At the Balance Healing Centre, located in centrally in Ottawa's Manor Park, we offer the following services.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a time-tested therapy used to promote health and treat sickness by balancing the body’s energies. This is done by inserting fine, virtually painless, single-use needles into specific acupuncture points where they remain as the patient relaxes for up to 45 minutes. This drug-free therapy can be used in conjunction with conventional medicine.
Emily Dunn, a registered acupuncturist with over 10 years of experience, is trained in classical acupuncture as well as Dr. Tan's Balance Method and the Master Tong acupuncture point system.

Cupping Therapy
Cupping therapy is a form of therapy where glass cups are suctioned onto the body and left in place or “moved around” with oil acting and feeling like a deep tissue massage. This therapy increases blood flow to the area, helps to pull out toxins from the body, and relaxes the muscles. This makes it an effective therapy to treat muscle knots, cellulite, colds, digestive issues and to promote relaxation.

Facial Rejuvenation
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is not only a safe and effective way to firm up delicate facial skin but the treatment has value beyond beauty. As a holistic whole-body treatment, this specialized acupuncture protocol balances out hormones and the internal system so patients may also experience better sleep, improved digestion, and regular bowel movements all essential for a youthful appearance. It is also used for acne, rosacea, and Bell's Palsy.
Also known as cosmetic acupuncture, this minimally invasive needling technique works with the body's natural healing process by building collagen and elastin fibers in order for you to have youthful-looking skin without surgery or injections!
What can be achieved? Fine lines may be eliminated and wrinkles diminished. Bags under the eyes can be reduced, nasal-labial groove reduced in depth and length, jowls firmed, puffiness eliminated, droopy eyelids lifted and double chins minimized.

Acupressure & Tui Na Massage
Acupressure and Tui Na Massage work on acupuncture points and meridians to free energetic blockages and promote circulation. A great choice for those wary of needles. Pressure is applied with the hands, elbows, or with specially designed tools.

Auricular Acupuncture
Auricular acupuncture is considered a microsystem, in that the ear is like a microcosm of the whole body, meaning one part of the body, the ear in this instance, represents the whole body. Microsystems also appear on foot and hand reflexology, facial acupuncture, and scalp acupuncture.

Heat Therapy & Moxa
Sometimes we use heat to help restore balance in the body. This can be done with the classical approach called moxibustion which uses moxa or mugwort to gently introduce heat into the meridian. The TDP Infrared lamp emits minerals as well as heat, warming the body and increasing blood flow.
